Going to the cinema.
A cinema is a place where films are shown. In a big city there are many cinemas, in a small one sometimes there are none. It is hard to find a person who does not like going to the cinema. Everyone loves it, even from time to time. The cinema is a great entertainment. There are people who like it very much, they go there whenever a new film is on. Usually at least one film is shown every week. Some people have their favourite actors, directors, and screen-play writers. They have their favourite kinds of films such as comedies, dramas, horror, adventures and many others. Those film fans try to choose the films by their favourite directors with film stars they like. It may happen that a film by our favourite director or with our favourite star may not be so interesting and we may be disappointed.
Some of the films are so popular that it is hard to get a ticket. People stand in a long queues then. They say there is something special about watching a film in the cinema and that it is worth queuing. People who prefer watching films on tapes, CDs or on their computers, at home, will never understand the magic of a cinema. The big screen in front of us and people around us make us feel as if we are experiencing something unusual. This special atmosphere can be particularly felt while we watch a comedy and all the people in the cinema laugh with us. People who do not like going to the cinema say they cannot stand sitting in an uncomfortable chairs, but going to the cinema is not about sitting because we laugh and we cry, we discover a lot of new things – sometimes about ourselves, too.
