The ideal friend
Most people think that Real friendship is something very import ant and precious In human life. They think that friendship is a value which money cannot buy and that it is not easy to find it. I agree with these opinions. Like everybody, I also regard friendship as something very important. Therefore I will try to characterize an ideal friend.
I think that the ideal friend should be a very honest and loyal person. Loyalty is the most important thing between friends. I must always trust my friend and I must always be sure that all my secrets will be safe. In my opinion the worst thing that friend can do is to give away stories and problems which have been told in secret.
The ideal friend should always support me and believe me. In moments of failure or any kinds of misfortune my friend should stand on my side and help me. This is extremely important in situations when everybody else is against me. I think that many people who were unjustly accused could prove their innocence thanks to having loyal and trusting friends. But on the other hand I think that my friend ought to be the first person who should tell me that I am wrong when I do something stupid or when my behavior is improper. Sincerity is essential between friends.
My ideal friend should also understand me. It is very good to have somebody who understand me. It is very good to have somebody who understands your ideas, plans, emotions, especially that my parents or teachers can seldom comprehend what is going in my head. The ability to understand each other and to talk sincerely about problems is something which makes friendship last.
In my opinion it is also good when friends have a lot in common and when they share interests and hobbies. Then their friendship allows them to develop their personalities and enlarge their knowledge.
It is not important for an ideal friend to be beautiful or rich. Of course it is nice when your best friend is an attractive or well-to-do person but these features are completely irrelevant as far as good friendship is concerned.
Finally I think that my ideal friend should be of the same sex as me because in my opinion a boy can understand another boy better than a girl and a girl will never talk to a boy as she will to another girl.
I have not found the ideal friend yet but I hope that I will meet him one day and that we will be friends for ever.
